\nPigment Red 49:1 is Red powder with strong tinting power but poor hiding power. Slightly soluble in hot water, ethanol, acetone and sodium hydroxide solution. When soluble in sulfuric acid, it becomes linear purple. When diluted, it changes to reddish purple and then becomes a reddish-brown precipitate. When exposed to nitric acid, it becomes a brown-red solution. Other properties are average.<\/p>\n
